The following is information on currently scheduled auditions and the application process.
Application Deadline: September 5, 2012
The Acadiana Symphony is a "per service" orchestra. Our 2012-2013 Concert Season includes 6 Masterworks, 2 Education concerts, 4 Runout concerts, 2 Chamber concerts and a July 4th Pops concert. Total number of services is 15-42. Pay is $70/service (section) and $80/service (principal). Musicians who live over 50 miles from Lafayette will receive travel pay. First-year contracts are always a "trial period". Permanent contracts may be issued after the first year.
Highly qualified applicants are invited to audition. The Audition Committee of the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra reserves the right to dismiss immediately, any candidate not meeting the highest professional standards.

Your deposit check will be refunded upon arrival at the scheduled audition time or if written cancellation is received by September 5, 2012. Candidates will perform behind a screen. In case of a second round, the screen may be removed. Approximately 5-7 minutes are allotted for each audition. Taped auditions are not accepted. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Candidates will receive an email notification with their audition date/time one week prior to the audition. Dates/times will also be posted on this page. Please check back for important information, changes and updates.
